Supporting Families and Mental Illness
A Qualitative Exploratory Study, Into The Views and Needs of Parents who Experience Mental Illness has been released. The study revealed that the parents valued meeting other’s with similar experiences and felt different approaches were needed to parenting when experiencing mental illness.

New media resource provides best practice on reporting suicide
A resource for use by journalists and others who report or comment on suicide was published in December 2011.
It outlines issues relating to suicide reporting, provides some best practice suggestions, and identifies useful sources of information.
The resource was developed by a working group of media and mental health professionals along with agencies (NGOs and government) working in suicide prevention.
