Disability Action Plan 2019-2022:Nationwide workshops
The Office for Disability Issues and the Disabled Peoples’ Organisations Coalition are holding feedback events to hear the community’s ideas about what should be in the new Disability Action Plan (DAP) 2019-2022.
National Events & workshopsOpportunitiesOpportunities for youthThis workshop (to be held from 26 November to February 2019) is one of the first in a series to be held around the country.
The Disability Action Plan (DAP) is important as it is the government’s commitment to actions to implement the New Zealand Disability Strategy (2016-2026). This work builds on meetings held in 2018 by Hon Carmel Sepuloni, Minister for Disability Issues, to gather ideas from disabled people in Whangarei, New Plymouth, Tauranga, Invercargill, Rotorua and Hamilton.
The feedback workshops will be held around New Zealand from November until February. They will try and keep each workshop to one and a half hours long and most of the time will be spent listening to the community’s views.
Please RSVP to ODI@msd.govt.nz subject: DAP Workshop or Text/SMS: 029 495 0010. The workshops will be accessible with NZ Sign Language interpreters and hearing loops available.
