Ministry of Youth Development Funding from 1 July 2019

The Ministry of Youth Development (MYD) is reviewing its funding priorities for 1 July 2019 onwards.

OpportunitiesOpportunities for youth

The Ministry are doing this to ensure they are working to support the Government’s focus on wellbeing, and to bring a focus on uplifting and developing the strengths of young people and improving equity of opportunity for a widely diverse population of young people. MYD aims to be an enabler of the youth development sector and youth voices. They want to support the active participation of young people in decision making, and a strong youth sector ready to respond to what young people need.

MYD expect to publish information on their updated funding priorities and criteria for the open tender process in late November 2018. MYD will run an open tender funding process which will be open to all organisations that support young people aged 12-24 years and meet the funding criteria. MYD believe that an open tender approach offers a transparent and fair process. MYD know operating from year to year can be difficult and will welcome applications for funding for up to three years through this process.

Please be assured that existing funding commitments will not be affected, and that this new approach is not about reducing overall funding.
