Ara Taiohi, with invaluable support from Youthtown and Youthline, are holding three employers hui over Feb/Mar. These hui will inform employers/managers about the professional association for youth workers in Aotearoa that has opened for founding membership. Founding members and key stakeholders (including employers) are shaping the professional association through a consultation process over the next few months.
The employers hui will cover:
Benefits of the professional association for employers (and young people/youth workers)
An understanding of the platform the association is based on
An overview of the membership structure (where your youth workers might fit)
Proposed fees for the membership
A chance to feedback on how volunteers should be included or issues there might be for you to support your employees to be able to belong to the association.
We encourage managers/employers of youth workers (of small or large organisations) to attend this hui. There are many opportunities to feed into this process – and we believe that this hui will provide a great introduction to the process.
We acknowledge that there has not been a great deal of notice, particularly for Christchurch, but we will be working hard to ensure further opportunities for others to feed into the professional association.
Link through to the location nearest you to register for attendance. Each hui will end with a shared lunch and time for networking.
