Hover your mouse over our fantastic faces to read why being a founding member and having a professional association is important to them.

Calling all youth workers!  Come and join us on the journey of building a professional association for youth workers.  We are seeking Founding Members to join us and help shape the professional association.

Founding members will help us to test and evaluate the association’s processes and feed into the development of key components of the association.  You can define the level of involvement you want – but all are welcome!

You don’t necessarily have to fulfil all the requirements of entry for the professional association to become a founding member - as to become a fully accredited member of the professional association you will need to successfully complete the application process (either as a pilot test as a founding member or down the track).  But we want anyone who is interested in becoming a member at any point, or who just wants to help inform the association’s development, to become a founding member and have their say.  For those founding members who don’t successfully complete the application process it gives us the opportunity to learn what continued support is needed to help them to become an accredited member.

This is an opportunity to:

  • Be part of shaping the future of youth work in Aotearoa
  • Uphold the integrity of youth work and youth workers
  • Belong to a community of development, learning and practice

Join us and become a founding member:

  • If you are already a member of Ara Taiohi - either through the organisation you work for or as a personal member - you just need to fill out the Expression of Interest
  • If you are not already a member of Ara Taiohi please join us and then fill out the Expression of Interest to become a founding member of the professional association
  • If the cost of becoming a member is a barrier to participating please email Trina and we'll work out some options with you
  • If you're not sure if your organisation is a current member check here

Founding membership will be open until the we GO LIVE in May 2017. Link to the image below to fill out the Expression of Interest to become a founding member.
