Alannah Meredith Vatau
I am a first-generation New Zealand-born Samoan raised in South Auckland, balancing my career while raising three children aged 15, 13, and 7. My personal and professional experiences have shaped my passion for supporting Māori and Pasifika communities in culturally grounded and empowering ways.
I am committed to ongoing growth and development, both personally and professionally. I value wellbeing, faith, culture, and meaningful connection, and I aim to bring these values into the way I support and work alongside others.
My Approach
I am passionate about supporting Māori and Pasifika communities within the social services sector to navigate Western systems in ways that are culturally grounded, empowering, and centered on dignity and respect. I believe in creating spaces where people feel seen, heard, and valued, while strengthening their ability to move confidently through systems that can often feel overwhelming or disconnected from their lived experiences.
I value sustainable and values-led practice, encouraging individuals and teams to prioritise wellbeing, recognise their strengths, and build resilience in ways that support both personal and professional growth. I believe meaningful change happens when people are supported holistically, honouring culture, identity, relationships, and purpose alongside professional development.
My approach to supervision is deeply interwoven with my faith and cultural values, which guide the way I build trust, connection, and accountability. I see supervision as more than professional support; it is a collaborative and reflective space where challenges can be explored openly and transformed into opportunities for learning, healing, and growth. Through encouragement, reflection, and culturally responsive practice, I aim to empower others to lead with confidence, integrity, and authenticity.
