My name is Gayle, I whakapapa to England, Ireland and Scotland, honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and I am from/live in Ōtautahi Christchurch.
I have a private practice in professional supervision and also continue to work as a Registered Nurse which keeps me connected with the demands in health care and our society. My career has mostly been in the community in various roles predominantly focusing in youth health and sexual health. Currently I work in a kaupapa Māori organisation in a maternal/perinatal mental health service.
My Approach
Supervision is a place for reflection, valuing and growth. It offers a way of stepping out of the busy-ness of the work day to pay attention to our practice, the interactions with others, and how it may have an effect on ourselves and practice. Through this process we can return to our mahi/work with a sense of clarity, value, and authenticity.
The experience I seek to offer in supervision is to provide a safe, purposeful place where reflection, learning and growth can occur, and with the attention on self-care. It is an opportunity to recognise and work with our strengths as well as the things that challenge or block us in our practice.
I continue to grow and challenge my own learning for supervision, and value the teachings from supervisees.
