Leisa Moorhouse

Tēnā koutou, he uri o Ngāpuhi ahau, me Ngāti Ingarangi, Ngāti Aerihi hoki. Kia ora from rural Tauranga. I am an experienced social work practitioner, supervisor and educator who has worked with rangatahi, children and whānau (across the lifespan) in youth mental health, child protection, health and palliative care. My husband and I have 2 adult sons who live between Wellington and home (I think it's the pantry and the cheap board that brings them back rather than seeing me!). I have two pet kunekune pigs, and enjoy cycling, growing stuff, and te taiao generally. I love supervision and aim for it to be a space where people feel safe to download, unpack what is going on, to provide tautoko and awhi, and to explore how to be your best self so that you can do the same for those you work alongside. My Approach

I aim to provide a sense of āhurutanga / safe space to help you process what you need to in that space. I think your hauora/wellbeing is vital in terms of check in (and to ‘walk the talk’ with selfcare). I use a range of approaches, including Strength Based practice, whakataukī and pūrakāu, as well as tools like cards (no, we don’t play Poker!), whiteboard, and whatever supports your learning. I work with whatever you bring, and expect you to be open to reflection, to challenge and to growth so that you get the most out of sessions. I provide you with resources and links to support you in your ongoing professional and personal development.
