Naveed Ahmed
I am a registered social worker with experience working with Ministry for Children Oranga Tamariki and the NGO sector, focusing on care and protection, senior citizens, and family harm. I began as a front-line social worker in intake and investigation, where I developed skills in risk assessment and building trust with tamariki, rangatahi, and families/whanau in crisis. I offer external supervision services to social workers, university students at my work place, and to other professionals, providing culturally sensitive, strengths-based guidance. My focus is on helping supervisees develop self-awareness, critical thinking, and emotional resilience. I support professionals in growing their practice, ensuring they deliver culturally competent services, particularly with Islamic/Muslim and Indian cultures. I emphasize work/life balance, self-care, and culturally safe practice.
