Tammie Metcalfe
Kia ora, I’m Tammie Metcalfe. I have more than 20 years’ experience working across government, local government, iwi and community organisations, with a strong background in youth development, employment, social services and leadership. My work has always been centred on supporting people to thrive, build confidence and navigate complex situations with clarity and purpose.
Alongside my professional experience, I value authentic relationships and believe that connection is one of the most important foundations for growth. I bring a practical, down-to-earth style to supervision and create a space where people feel respected, heard and supported.
My Approach
I believe that those of us who choose to work in helping professions are, at our core, people who want to serve others. Our values, life experiences and personal journeys often shape why we do this work and influence how we show up every day as practitioners.
Supervision provides an opportunity to pause and reflect—not only on our practice, but on ourselves. By understanding how our own experiences, beliefs, strengths and challenges influence our work, we become more intentional, authentic and effective in the way we support others.
My role is not to provide all the answers, but to create a safe, respectful and trusting space where you can reflect openly, explore different perspectives, and reconnect with your purpose. Through thoughtful conversation, curiosity and shared learning, supervision becomes a place for growth, resilience and renewed confidence in your practice.
I believe that when we take care of ourselves as practitioners, we are better able to serve the people and communities we walk alongside.
