Hiya, I'm Alex and I am apart of the Youth Week intern whānau; I hold joy and adoration for supporting our rangatahi and our āo. Exploring anthropology, music, and poetry are my passions and keep me grounded. I love connecting with people and finding out our stories intertwined. Outside of mahi, my hands are engrossed in baking, story-telling, and fibre arts, and my heart holds friends, whānau, and the āo around me. This will be a public event and promoted through our social media platforms. The purpose of Wairua Day is to provide a safe, inclusive environment where rangatahi can express themselves, be heard, and engage in meaningful connection. The day will focus on strengthening wairua through shared kōrero, storytelling, and opportunities for reflection. Activities will include facilitated group discussions, games, and interactive activities designed to encourage engagement, build confidence, and foster a sense of belonging. Free kai will be provided to support a welcoming, whānau centred atmosphere. Rangatahi will have the chance to share their stories and staff will be sharing their stories too. Celebrating youth week - A key feature of the day will be a handprint wall, where rangatahi can leave a visual representation of their identity and connection to the space at the Mana Wairua Center.     < Back Lloyd (Doc) Martin Code of Ethics Facilitator Now based in the Hawkes Bay, I provide supervision and facilitate workshops around the motu in ethics and youth development for youth workers, community educators, and anyone whose mahi impacts young people. My special interest is the intersection between youth development and education, how these are affected by trauma, and what it takes to re-engage youth. I have recently completed a doctorate which involved listening to young people’s experiences of AE and of the people who work with them in those settings.
