Today marks a moment of pride and excitement for Ngā Kaihoe and Māori youth workers who walk alongside rangatahi, as we launch our refreshed branding.
This rebrand is more than a new look; the revitalised brand and tohu signal the growing momentum behind the movement, lifting the network's visibility and opening the door for more Māori youth development champions to join and contribute to the collective.
Ngā Kaihoe is a kaupapa-driven community of practice where Māori youth development champions navigate and uphold the mana of all rangatahi that they support. Joining Ngā Kaihoe is an opportunity for youth workers to connect, grow, and lead alongside other kaimahi Māori.
The refreshed tohu and brand, developed in partnership with Taputapu Design, is inspired by the waka taurapa, the sternpost of a waka that provides balance, direction and identity. As the taurapa steadies the waka, the Ngā Kaihoe tohu represents cultural anchoring and leadership within the youth development sector.
Speaking at the launch, our Ngā Kaihoe Kaihautū, Raniera Pene, shared his vision, “Ngā Kaihoe has always been about the collective – connecting with others, collaborating, and strengthening practice and advocating for our communities. This refreshed identity reflects the strength of our network and the future we’re building together.”
