< Back Anne Honey-Monk Hi there, my name is Anne i am on level 49 in the game of life. I have one husband, two adult children and two very precious beautiful mokopuna. I have an "old McDonald type home life which includes Teddy the Border Collie, his two fur cat sisters Incah and Thai, Pigs along with piglets, too many chickens to count and the good old sheep n lambs. Life is fairly diverse to say the least. Finding my own place in a complicated world has gifted me the ability to see the potential of growth we all have within. Life can be a rollercoaster and having the ability to know how to get on and off the platform is crucial in self-care. I absolutely love working alongside people in their journey of self-awareness, acceptance and finding what matters in their life. I entered into the helping profession from a relatively young level of life approx. level 23 where i assisted youth at risk. From there I grew as a Tautoko Whanau worker which rolled into over a century of frontline child protection. Today at level 49 i am a qualified health improvement practitioner which I absolutely love every day. Through my journey of getting here i have learnt many lessons in the helping profession with the number one being self-care - this is what i promote in my supervision practice. My Approach External supervision offers a valuable opportunity to reflect critically on your practice, gain new perspectives, and enhance your professional development, ultimately improving service delivery and self-care. It may aid you in developing leadership skills with a focus of self-awareness, and confidence, and encourages reflective practice and continuous learning. As I am trained in functional acceptance, commitment therapy (FACT) a focus I bring into my external supervision sessions is self-acceptance and commitment. In this space I, as a supervisor would walk beside you through your critical reflection as this would be your journey - You are the professional in your life including your practice I am just there to provide gentle guidance. The event will include cultural performances, youth storytelling, dialogue circles and creative expression activities. It will be youth-led, from planning to execution to feedback. By participating in all elements of the process, youth will gain leadership skills and increase their sense of cultural belonging and self-esteem. Attendees will include parents, community and civic leaders and peers, and the event will be streamed on the ROC Trust Facebook page to provide an even wider audience for youth voices. This event will enable youth to share their culture and creativity, and to experience the culture and creativity of their peers. Additionally, it will contribute to a greater understanding of the experiences and needs of youth from former refugee and migrant backgrounds in Hamilton Kirikiriroa, and help shape a more inclusive and welcoming city. I'm social work trained and currently mahi with VOYCE Whakarongo Mai as Kaiārahi for Te Waipounamu. I'm incredibly passionate about building the professionalisation, capacity, and credibility of our youth sector and see the understanding of and upskilling in Mana Taiohi and Code of Ethics as a huge part of that. As well as youth voice mahi and supporting the sector, I also enjoy systems change kaupapa, amplifying marginalised voices and ensuring systems are equitable and accessible for all. My facilitation style is relational and inclusive, with a hope that people feel confident in their training and further connected to the sector. The following two days (30-31 May) at Pataka Art + Museum in Porirua will feature: Interactive leadership workshops Youth-led panels and discussions Creative sessions and storytelling Wellbeing and resilience spaces Networking with changemakers and community leaders The Summit is free to attend for young people aged 15-25. While the summit centres youth voices, adults aged 25+ who wish to attend as supporters, mentors, educators, community leaders, or allies are warmly welcome. Dedicated adult/supporter tickets are available.
